General Registration Information

Geographical boundaries: Vancouver Community Baseball is open to anyone living in the City of Vancouver.  If you live outside of Vancouver, you will need to obtain a release from you home association before you can play with VCB.

Age restriction: VCB runs programs at the 13U, 15U, 18U, and 25U ages.  Players who are eligible to play Little League (meaning no older than 12 as of August 31 of the current calendar year) are encouraged to play with their local Little League instead of Vancouver Community.  Links to the Vancouver Little Leagues websites can be found below.

If you were registered last year and are age-eligible to play again this year but are not planning to do so, we would appreciate if you would let us know by email.  We will be contacting families of eligible unregistered players by phone around Feb 15th unless I've been informed that you are not planning to play this year.  You can contact the registrar at registrar@vcbmountiesbaseball.com.

Base Registration Fees

Registration fees for the 2024 season have been set at $480 per player for all divisions 13U through 25U.

We recognise that this is a significant increase over 2023 fees.  It is primarily attributed to recent 108% increase of our Vancouver Park Permits, necessitating a corresponding adjustment in the financial structure of our baseball program. The effect of heightened permit expenses has prompted our organization to reassess budgets immediately.

Players selected to travel or summer ball teams will be charged an additional fee (see the section below for more information).

Payment may be made by credit card only.  If you wish to pay by cheque or cash please contact the Registrar for instructions.  All payments are to be made in Canadian dollars.

Payment is due in full at the time of registration.

Financial assistance may be available through various organizations.  Please check the funding page for further information.

All players must be registered to attend assessments (where applicable).   Your child will not be placed on a team until registration is complete.  You can verify that your registration was successful by checking your TeamSnap account orders page.

Travel team fees

Players selected to a travel team (13U AA/AAA, 15U AA/AAA, or 18U AAA) will be charged an extra fee over and above the base registration fee.

Division Travel Team Fee (added to the base fee)
13U AA $740
13U AAA $740
15U AA $1190
15U AAA (registration closed) $1790
18U AAA $1540

Players who try out for but are not selected to a travel team will be drafted onto a house team, unless you indicate an intention to withdraw by notifying the Registrar, before the house team drafts take place.

If you intend to try out for a travel team, we want you to register by January 5th as tryouts will start as early as January 6th for 15U AAA.  If you intend to play on a house team, we encourage you to register by January 31st, although registration will likely remain open until at least March 10.

All-girls team(s)

We expect to offer the option for female players to play on an all-female team if they so choose in 2024.  During registration, female participants will be asked if they want to play on an girls team if the option exists for their age level.  If we are not able to offer this option, participants will be given the option of being placed on a mixed-gender team or withdrawing and receiving a full refund of their registration fees.

This initiative is spearheaded by Kristy Watson.  She can be reached by email at watsonk1515@gmail.com.

Out of boundary players

Except for 18U AAA, BC Minor Baseball rules require that players play in their local association.  If you live outside of Vancouver, you can find your local association on BC Minor Baseball's website.  The link is below.

If you live outside the City of Vancouver but want to play on a VCB team for whatever reason, you will need to get a release from your home association.  A release may be granted or refused by your  local association for any reason and the decision may change from one year to the next.

If you're trying out for our 15U AAA team,  BC Minor Baseball rules permit 15U AAA teams to roster up to 3 players from outside their association's catchment area.

VCB welcomes out of catchment players to try out.  If you're out of catchment, please do two things before coming to a tryout:

1.  Email the registrar so we can give you a code to allow you to defer payment of your registration fees.  If you are selected to our team, we'll invoice you for the base registration fee and the travel team fee.

2.  Fill out the BC Minor Tryout release form (use the link below).

If  you are trying out for the VCB 18U AAA team, be advised that there are no boundary restrictions.  If you are not selected for the 18U AAA team, you will need to return to your home association to play 18U AA (or get a release to play 18U AA with VCB).

Refund Policy

A request for a refund will only be considered if it is delivered, in writing, to the league's Registrar.   If you do not receive a response to your request to withdraw within 24 hours, re-send the email to the Registrar and copy the Association President and the applicable Division Coordinator.  Their contact information can be found on the Contacts page of this website.

There is a $20.00 non-refundable fee for all withdrawals to cover the league's registration and credit card transaction costs.

Requests for refunds prior to the teams being formed will be processed without delay.  It is not necessary to include a reason for the withdrawl.

After the teams have been formed, requests for refunds will only be considered for medical reasons, and must be supported by a note from a physician. If accepted, refunds will be pro-rated (less the non-refundable fee) based on when the injury or illness occurred within the season.

All refunds will be provided no later than two (2) weeks after receiving the request for refund.

Before opening the registration forms below, open this page in a separate window and refer to it as you're filling out the forms.
